Dave Matthews Band with Jimmy Cliff

For reasons I can't really get into, I spent most of my time at the Dave Matthews Band concert hanging out with the people I went with and having a great time, and ... almost completely ignoring the music! That's okay, because I'm not a great fan of Dave Matthews Band, even though I think the music is fairly decent (mainstream music, however, just doesn't do it for me). So this is a pretty biased and incomplete review, but I'm writing it anyway for completeness' sake (I review every concert I have been to).

Jimmy Cliff opened. It was okay---I listened to the music from the outside as we were waiting for some friends. Dave Matthews Band came on to a huge ovation and opened with What Would You Say. The band played a set consisting of some really cool instrumental jams. The encore featured stellar performances of Angel from Montgomery and All Along the Watchtower. Other cool songs in the set included Ants Marching, So Much to Say, and Cry Freedom. It definitely was a set that didn't pander to the songs that have been heavily played on the radio.

Like I say above, I really am not doing the concert justice, but the concert was a fun experience and I definitely recommend checking them out if they swing by your part of town.
