This is Hersh's solo effort from last year (1994) and at first listen, it sounds like an acoustic version of Throwing Muses. All the songs are catchy and haunting, and Hersh's distinctive voice shines through the minimalistic acoustic guitar work. Even Michael Stipe's vocals on Ghost pale in comparison to hers. This album is not about being alternative and putting out music product to appease the masses---it is musical art. The album also shows that Hersh is a major driving force behind her group Throwing Muses and proves that Hersh is one of the most talented musicians out there today.
