Near Life Experience is a combination of guitar driven hard rock, processed vocals, and aggressive hard-hitting drumming. The sound is vaguely reminiscent of a cross between older and newer Megadeth. The band is composed of accomplished musicians, who've already been around for a while. Steve Blaze (of Lillian Axe fame) is the front man here, doing most of the vocal, lead guitar (which is one of the highlights of this album), and keyboard duties. Craig Nunenmacher (of Crowbar) does a great job on the drums. Bob Bearden (guitars) and Jeff Okoneski (on bass) make a solid rhythm section. There is enough experimentation in the album going on to keep the listener interested.
