This is a self-indulgent psychotic collection of 6 songs recorded by two brothers in their basement. The emotive content in the songs is very high, and with a bit more effort, Toddio could be downright terrifying. The rhythm section is pretty solid, and the guitar has a great crunchy tone, but the vocals don't always appeal to me (and I'm a big fan of processed vocals, mind you). Still, the overall sound is interesting, and there are times when it all works really well. The CD was recorded on a 4-track, and the quality of the sound (which is excellent) doesn't surprise me at all---today's 4-tracks are definitely capable of providing "studio grade" output, especially if you don't bounce (and it doesn't look like Toddio have, which also makes for a cool minimalistic sound). Definitely worth checking out!
