Vancouver, BC revisited

My recent trip to Vancouver mimicked the first one I did a few years ago since we had a family friend and I had a new family that I wanted to show the "sights" to.

The main difference was on the first day, where, after eating some good Thai food at the Thai House Restaurant on Robson and sitting on the Patio at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, we went out to the Sonar club to see trance DJ Johan Gielen who was very good. We came back late at night and walked down Granville, and returned home to relax in our jacuzzi in the Penthouse Suite.

The second day, after eating lunch in Chinatown, I and my son climbed up Grouse Mountain which I had done before in the middle of winter in more than a feet of snow, during an intense and freak snowstorm in 1999. This climb wasn't as life threatening, and we made it easily though it was extremely tiring since it's a 2800 feet vertical climb in less than two miles. We hung out the lodge at the top for a while, and returned back downtown to hang out on the outside patio at a restaurant on Granville that reminded me of the beer bars in Bangkok a lot.

The next day, we went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, and the new attraction here is the Treetops Adventure where you walk on bridges hooked up to trees. Considering how close we are, this is definitely a trip we should make more often since Vancouver's a beautiful city in the summer.
